General Description

Policy Summary:

Scope:

This policy applies to students living in main campus residence halls and City Vista.

Policy Content

Main Campus and City Vista
Residents may host guests provided that all residents of the room/unit consent to the visitation. In order for the University staff to be able to respond appropriately in cases of emergency, students are asked to inform their Resident Assistant whenever a non-resident is staying overnight in a University residence hall or City Vista. Residents may not provide overnight lodging on campus for more than three nights in succession and ten nights per semester without the approval of the Residential Life Coordinator who supervises their residence hall/City Vista. Guests may occupy the room/unit in reasonable numbers. Residential Life reserves the right to determine a reasonable number of guests per space.

Residents are not permitted to grant or transfer any temporary or permanent occupancy rights to their assigned bedroom and/or unit/room, including, without limitation, offering their bedroom and/or their unit/room for use in conjunction with Airbnb, Couchsurfing, or any similar short-term lodging programs. Guests must adhere to all Residential Life and University policies and procedures.

Overnight guests under the age of 17 are not permitted to stay in the residence halls or City Vista unless they are in the immediate company of a parent or legal guardian or have received written permission from the Residential Life Office.

City Vista Only
In amenity spaces (pool, patio areas, gym, game room, lounge), no more than two (2) guests per unit are permitted. City Vista residents must accompany their guest(s) on the property at all times. Guests may not bring guests to the property. City Vista residents are responsible for their guest(s) at all times while they are visiting the property.
