General Description

Purpose:

To establish hoverboards as a banned item on the Trinity University campus to promote safety and prevent injuries and property damage.  

Scope:

Hoverboards are defined to include self-balancing scooters, battery operated scooters and hands-free segways, hereafter known as "hoverboards." The scope of this policy applies to the operation, possession and storage of hoverboards on the Trinity University premises, hereafter known as "Trinity."

Exceptions:

None.

Policy Content

To ensure the safety of individuals, all Trinity students, faculty, staff, vendors, contractors and visitors are strictly prohibited from operating, possessing or storing a hoverboard on Trinity premises. For purposes of this policy, the premises of Trinity are defined as any property, building, or portion of a building or property that Trinity owns, occupies, whether on a temporary or permanent basis, and any off-site premises where Trinity is conducting any activity sponsored by Trinity. This includes all parking lots, parking areas, sidewalks, and all Trinity vehicles and equipment.

Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action in accordance with university policy.
