General Description

Purpose:

To maintain residential areas conducive to an academic environment, all residents are expected to maintain reasonable courtesy hours within and in the vicinity of the residence halls and City Vista at all times.

Scope:

This policy applies to students living in main campus residence halls and City Vista.

Policy Content

Main Campus & City Vista
As mentioned above, all residents are expected to maintain reasonable courtesy hours within and in the vicinity of the residence halls and City Vista at all times. Amplified musical instruments and drums are not permitted. To ensure that residents may adequately sleep and study in their rooms, quiet hours are in effect from 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily. During reading days and final exams, quiet hours will be in effect 24 hours a day. During quiet hours, noise should not be heard outside of a room or apartment. While Residential Life staff and the Trinity University Police Department will enforce the noise policy, residents are expected to notify others directly about disturbances. In that spirit, we ask that all residents comply with reasonable requests from neighbors related to noise.

Performance Evaluation

Consequences of Policy Violation:

Policy violations may be handled by Residential Life, the Trinity University Police Department, or referred to the Dean of Students' Office.
