Policy Content

Main Campus & City Vista
With the exception of service animals and approved emotional support animals (ESAs), animals other than fish, including visiting animals, are not permitted in the residence halls or the City Vista property. Residents may keep fish as pets in aquariums up to ten (10) gallons. Residents found with unapproved animals may be subject to an immediate $250.00 fine applied to their student account, and must permanently remove the animal from the halls or the property within 24 hours. Repeated violations may result in additional sanctions up to and including escalated fines, termination of residence, and/or referral to the Dean of Students' Office for student conduct action. Additional policy information can be found within Residential Life's Animal Policy Addendum.

Service animals and approved emotional support animals are welcome. No fees or deposits will be required for service animals or approved emotional support animals. ESAs must first be approved through the office for Student Accessibility Services (SAS). After receiving approval, student owners must meet with Residential Life staff prior to the animal's arrival on campus. An additional Residential Life contract is required for emotional support and service animals. Documentation for service animals may be requested. Approved ESAs are not permitted in common spaces or amenity spaces. For more information regarding the University's Emotional Support Animal Policy, please contact SAS at sas@trinity.edu.
