General Description

Policy Summary:

To foster a campus environment grounded in civility, integrity, and mutual respect, Trinity University expects all students to uphold standards of personal responsibility in their behavior and interactions—both on and off campus.

Purpose:

This policy outlines expectations for student accountability and clarifies when students may be held responsible for the actions of others, including guests and participants in student-sponsored events.

Scope:

This policy applies to all currently enrolled Trinity University students.

Exceptions:

There are no exceptions.

Policy Content



Students are expected to take full responsibility for their actions and to exercise good judgment in their personal conduct. In addition:

 
  • Students are responsible for the behavior of their guests, particularly if those guests are unaffiliated with Trinity University or cannot be identified.
  • Responsible hosting includes being aware of University expectations, monitoring the behavior of attendees, and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies.

Performance Evaluation

Consequences of Policy Violation:

Students who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the Student Handbook. Sanctions may include, but are not limited to, formal warnings, fines, educational sanctions, parent or guardian notifications, loss of privileges, probation, suspension, or expulsion. The severity of the sanction will be determined based on the nature of the violation, the student's conduct history, and the impact on the campus community.

Guest Any individual who is not currently enrolled at Trinity University but is present on campus or at a University-affiliated event by invitation of a student.
Host A student who invites or sponsors a guest or organizes a gathering where University policies apply
