General Description

Policy Summary:

Trinity University is committed to fostering a campus environment rooted in civility, mutual respect, and personal integrity. This policy outlines behavioral expectations for students and establishes a shared standard for respectful conduct that promotes a safe and inclusive learning community.

 

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to clearly define behaviors that are inconsistent with the values of the Trinity University and to guide students in understanding and upholding these community standards. Respect for community is essential for maintaining a positive academic and social environment where all individuals can thrive.

Scope:

This policy applies to all current enrolled Trinity University students.

Exceptions:

There are no exceptions.

Policy Content

Students are expected to uphold community standards through honesty, respect, and accountability. Violations of this policy include, but are not limited to, the following behaviors:
 
  • Theft of property
  • Possession of stolen or illegal property
  • Lying, including knowingly providing false information
  • Cheating or academic dishonesty
  • Falsification of records or documents
  • Disruption of University operations or events
  • Disorderly conduct or inappropriate behavior
  • Public indecency
  • Possession, use of a dangerous item intended to be used as a weapon
  • Unauthorized entry or access to University buildings, rooms, or systems
  • Failure to identify oneself when requested by a University official
  • Evasion, refusal to comply, or harassment of University officials
  • Belittling, mocking, or obstructing staff or peers in the course of their duties

 

Performance Evaluation

Consequences of Policy Violation:

Students who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the Student Handbook. Sanctions may include, but are not limited to, formal warnings, fines, educational sanctions, parent or guardian notifications, loss of privileges, probation, suspension, or expulsion. The severity of the sanction will be determined based on the nature of the violation, the student's conduct history, and the impact on the campus community.

Civility Behavior that demonstrates respect for others in speech, action, and intention.
 
Disruption Behavior that interferes with the normal operation of University activities, including classes, events, community, or administrative functions.
University Official Any employee or representative of Trinity University acting within the scope of their duties.
